An office block at the Salford Docks.
The entire building is made of Green/Blue glass which makes it stand out from the average block of offices.

The ruins of a folley in the Peak DistrictMarch
Photographer:         Joanne Summerfield
Location:                Meols Cop, Derbyshire

One of the many visitor attractions to be found in the Derbyshire Peak District.
This 'Folly' is one of many that can be found in the area, but this one, with its skyline location can bee seen from miles around, and the view from it is amazing!

Tyrolean VillageApril
Photographer:         Hugh Salter
Location:                Austria

Hugh took this on holiday this year. He was intreagued by the villages idea of 'High-Rise' especially having seen some real sky scrapers in America!

Anyway, high-rise was how the were described, even if it is Tyrol style!

Sunset over Pennington Flash LakeMay
Photographer:         Bronwen Carr
Location:                Scotsman's Flash, Gt. Manchester.

For those of you who do not know, a 'Flash' is an overflow area from a canal: when heavy rain threatens to burst the banks of a canal, the excess water is drained off into the canal's 'Flash'!

This one is found in Greater Manchester, and like all flashes up here, has become a wildlife haven and sanctuary.
Bron took this picture one evening in early spring.

Tyrolean Mountain HornsJune
Photographer:         Gary (Gaz) Currie
Location:                 Austria

Gary also went to Austria this year (at present, November, he is in South Africa on his jollies again!).
Whilst he was there, he visited a village that was   in the middle of   a festival.

Being a photographer, Gary decided to capture the essence of the Tyrol - the famous Tyrolean Horns.

Half Timbered Elizabethan House in Lymm, CheshireJuly
Photographer:         Robert McDowall
Location:                Lymme, Cheshire

As a club, we visited Lymme one morning in the summer, just for a break and some peace and quiet: and we got it!
This picture of a half timbered Elizabethan house is at the corner of the Hight Street, and the only othjer road out of the village.

It is 10:30 on a Saturday. So I guess it is really a pictuire of rush hour in Lymme!

St. Asaph, North WalesAugust
Photographer:         Nigel Cunningham
Location:                St. Asaph, North Wales

The second offering from Nigel, this is a picture of the inside of St. Asaph Cathedral in North Wales.

The Cathedral of St. Asaph is known as the smallest ancien Cathedral in the United Kingdom, measuring only 182 feet long and 68 feet wide.

Houses on the River at LymmSeptember
Photographer:         Bronwen Carr
Location:                Lymme, Cheshire

The second of Bronwen's pictures to be included in our calendar also comes from Lymm and our 'peaceful' stroll around the village.

Bron found these homes along the river guarded by the wrought iron fence which although having a broken brandishing (spear point), had been carefully looked after, and was sporting a new coat of paint.

The Lights of Liverpool from the Seacombe Ferry TerminalOctober
Photographer:         Neil Stanworth
Location:                Liverpool

Taken from the Wirral side of the Mersey, this image beatifull shows off the Liverpool skyline. Not as towering as Ney York or Seattle, Liverpool shows its own charms: the Port Authority Building (the Liver Building) and the Clock Tower, world famous landmarks, stand out at night.

For all of you who want to know, this was taken from the Seacombe Ferry Terminal - the 'Other Side' of the Ferry 'Cross the Mersey'

The Commando Memorial at Spean BridgeNovember
Photographer:         Colin Evans
Location:                Spean Bridge, Inverness-shire

During the second world war, the Commandos trained in the mountains aroiund Spean Bridge, some of the most hostile countryside in the British Isles - or anywher else for tha matter!

When a memorial was suggested, there could only be one place for it, and here it stands. Depicting three Commandos on permanant watch, and constant readiness, it is visited by hundreds of people every day.

Sailing Ships in the Mersey. Liver Building and Grand TurkDecember
Photographer:         Marjorie Wilde
Location:                Liverpool Dock

Everyone knows the Liver Building, the secret of photographiong it is to find a different angle.

Marjorie seems to have accomplished this by setting it behing the rigging of the Sailiong Ship 'Grand Turk' on one of its visits to the Mersey.
